Chromium diffusion coating is used to protect surfaces against corrosion, wear and thermal instability. There are four types of chromium diffusion coating:
- Class I – carbon steels
- Class II – low-alloy steels
- Class III – stainless steels
- Class IV – nickel-based alloys
